The Box

Alex Box Stadium, better known as “The Box,” is home of the LSU Tiger’s Baseball team. Just eight miles from Turnberry Place, The Box, and Skip Bertman Field boasts one of the most unique college baseball experiences in the country.

With some of the most loyal fans, LSU baseball has quite a legacy of championships. LSU claims six National Championships and has made 18 appearances at the College World Series in Omaha.
The current state of the art facility opened in February 2009 and drew an attendance of 403,056 fans in its inaugural season, an NCAA record. For 14 seasons in a row LSU has finished first in the nation for total attendance.

Known for its old-fashioned charm and for its modern renovations, The Box is one of a kind. The stadium is named from Simeon Alex Box, a 1942 LSU letterman. Box, a Purple Heart, and Distinguished Service Cross recipient was killed in World War II. The field honors former LSU head baseball coach Skip Bertman.

Be sure to look for super fans The K Lady and Bird Man when you are there and don’t you dare miss the seventh inning stretch. Only LSU has a grounds crew that puts on a show.
